Aurevyn ("App," "Service," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this policy carefully. By using Aurevyn, you consent to the practices described herein and agree to our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account Information: When you register, we collect your chosen username and, optionally, your email address.
Prayer Activity: Prayer tags you select (e.g., Gratitude, Confession, Pouring Out), custom labels you create, and prayers you save or bookmark.
Sacred Text Interactions: Scriptures you collect or mark as favorites.
Ebenezer (Memorial Stone) Entries: Dates and brief descriptions you record in the memorial calendar feature.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device Information: Device type, operating system, App version, and unique device identifiers.
Usage Data: Feature usage frequency, session duration, and interaction patterns (collected in aggregate form).
IP Address: Collected solely for security monitoring and debugging purposes; not used for tracking or advertising.
1.3 Sensitive Information
We recognize that prayer tags, custom labels, and related content may constitute sensitive religious or spiritual information. This data receives enhanced protection as described in Section 6 below.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Provide and maintain core App features, including prayer guidance, sacred text reading, Ebenezer calendar, and content collections.
Personalize your experience (e.g., displaying your saved prayers and favorite scriptures).
Improve and optimize the App through aggregated, anonymized analytics.
Communicate with you regarding account matters, service updates, or responses to your inquiries.
Ensure the security and integrity of the Service.
We do NOT use your personal information for targeted advertising. We do NOT sell your personal information to any third party.
3. How We Share Your Information
3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or any other third parties.
3.2 Service Providers
We may share limited information with trusted service providers (such as cloud hosting providers like AWS) who assist us in operating the App. These providers are bound by data processing agreements and may only use your data to perform services on our behalf.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
3.4 Sensitive Prayer Content
We will not share your prayer content, tags, or spiritual journal entries with any third party unless you provide explicit consent or we are compelled by law.
4. Children's Privacy
Aurevyn is not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our systems. 5. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Right to Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not currently sell personal information. If this changes in the future, we will provide advance notice and an opt-out mechanism.
Right to Non-Discrimination: Exercising your privacy rights will not result in any reduction in service quality or access.
Right to Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.

6. Data Security and Retention
6.1 Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

Encryption at rest using AES-256 for sensitive data, including prayer content and personal identifiers.
Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.
6.2 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be removed from our production systems within thirty (30) days. Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytical purposes.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be stored and processed on servers located in the United States or other countries where our service providers maintain facilities (e.g., AWS regions). By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
8. State-Specific Privacy Disclosures
8.1 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). These include the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, the right to opt-out of sale or sharing, and the right to limit use of sensitive personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Under California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83), California residents may request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
8.2 Other State Laws
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy legislation may have similar rights. 9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you at least thirty (30) days in advance through an in-App notification or via email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
